Terms of Service
Last updated 30 October 2026.
These Terms are the agreement between you and the Swylo team ("we", "us") for using the Swylo app and website. Please read them. By tapping "Get started", signing in, or continuing to use Swylo, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Swylo.
1. What Swylo is
Swylo shows you clothes from shops near you and from other people's closets, lets you try them on a photo of yourself, and helps you style what you already own. You can photograph your clothes, have Swylo remove the background, get outfit ideas for the weather and your plans, and share pictures of your fits.
Shops ("brands") can list their pieces, and individuals can list clothes from their own closet. Swylo is a place to discover them: Swylo does not sell, own, ship or check these pieces, and is not part of any sale (see section 6).
Swylo is an early version. Features can change, break or be removed, and we may add paid features later.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian to agree to these Terms and to the use of photos of you.
You are responsible for your device and for anything done through your account or on your device.
3. Your pictures and content
You keep ownership of everything you add: photos of your clothes, photos of yourself, names, notes and the fits you create.
You give us a limited licence to handle that content only as needed to run the features you use: to store it on your device, to process it (for example to cut out a background), and, if you choose a cloud feature, to send it to the service that does the work.
You promise that:
- you only add photos of yourself or of clothes you own or may use;
- the full-length photo of you used for try-on is of you alone, fully clothed, and not of anyone else (you confirm this each time you add one);
- you only add photos of another person if they have agreed, and never of a child unless you are their parent or guardian;
- your content does not break the law or anyone's rights.
Swylo turns away photos it cannot use (for example sideways or very small pictures), and may remove any content that breaks these Terms.
4. AI and third-party services
Some features send your pictures to AI services run by other companies. "Try it on me" (a picture of you wearing an outfit) sends a picture of you and photos of the pieces to Google’s Gemini image model, through a server Swylo runs. Cut-outs (removing the background from a photo of a garment or of you) are done the same way when you allow AI features. If the main model is unavailable, Swylo’s server may use another Google Gemini image model instead. You can switch AI features off any time in Profile.
We do not run those AI services and cannot control how they handle uploads. They can be slow, busy or offline, and "Try it on me" has a daily limit per phone. Do not send a photo you would not be comfortable sharing with an AI service.
AI results are pictures made by a model. They may not match the real garment's fit, colour or detail, and they may contain errors. Do not rely on them to choose a size or to buy anything. Treat them as a preview only.
5. What you may not do
- Add nudity, sexual content, or anything that is abusive, hateful or illegal.
- Use Swylo to make pictures that imitate another person or mislead others about who they show.
- Upload photos of other people without their permission.
- Overload, probe or misuse the free servers Swylo connects to, or try to get around limits or consent screens.
- Copy, reverse engineer, resell or interfere with the app, or use it to build a competing product.
- List counterfeit, stolen, recalled, unsafe or illegal items, used underwear, or anything you do not have the right to sell.
- Describe a piece misleadingly (its brand, condition, size, price or photos), or use photos you did not take or may not use.
- Pretend to be a shop, brand or person you are not, or set up more than one account to get around a limit or a ban.
- Harass, threaten, scam or spam anyone, or ask anyone for passwords, sign-in codes or bank details.
We may remove content, hide listings, or limit or end access if these rules are broken, with or without warning where safety requires it.
6. Buying from shops and other people
When you buy something you found on Swylo, the sale is between you and the shop or person selling it, on their website, in their store, or however you agree. Swylo does not take payment, is not the seller, and is not responsible for the item, its delivery, returns or refunds. The shop's or seller's own terms, and your consumer rights against them, apply.
Prices, stock, sizes, size charts and photos come from the shop or seller and can be wrong or out of date. Size suggestions and "your size" labels are estimates from your measurements and the seller's chart, not a promise that something fits.
Distances are worked out from your location and the location the shop or seller gave, and can be off.
7. Staying safe
- For pre-loved pieces, meet in a busy public place in daylight, bring someone if you can, and check the item before you pay.
- Pay only once you have the item or through a method that protects you. Never pay a deposit to someone you have not met for an item you have not seen.
- Swylo will never ask for your password, a sign-in code or payment by email, message or phone. Anyone who does is not Swylo.
- If someone makes you feel unsafe, leave, and contact the police if you are in danger.
- Report a listing, shop or person that breaks these Terms by contacting swylo.shop@gmail.com. We review reports and act on them as quickly as we reasonably can.
8. Sharing your fits
Swylo creates a picture of your fit and hands it to your device's share sheet. Where it goes after that (Instagram, WhatsApp, your photos, and so on) is your choice and is governed by that service's rules. Swylo does not receive or store shared pictures. Anything you share is out of our control.
9. Location, weather, suggestions and fashion advice
Swylo asks for your location when you finish setting up, because the feed is sorted and filtered by distance. You can turn it off in your device settings at any time; distances and "near you" will then stop working.
Outfit suggestions and your feed are put together by rules based on your answers in setup (such as your style, sizes, colours, budget and distance), the weather, the occasion and what you liked before. They are ideas, not guarantees of what suits you, fits you, or is right for a dress code. Weather comes from a free service and can be wrong.
10. Payments
Swylo is currently free. If we add paid plans, we will show the price and what you get before you pay. Purchases would be handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, so billing, cancellation and refunds follow their rules.
11. Our rights and others' content
The Swylo name, logo, design and software belong to us. You may use the app for your own personal use, but not copy or sell it.
The backdrop photos in the app come from Pexels and are used under the Pexels licence. Other services Swylo connects to (Google sign-in, Supabase, Open-Meteo and Pexels) have their own terms.
12. Ending your use
You can stop at any time. In Profile, you can remove your photo, delete your style profile, or delete your account and all data from your device.
We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms or if we need to stop a feature. If we do, we will tell you where we reasonably can.
13. Things we cannot promise
Swylo is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be error-free, always available, or that your data will never be lost. Back up photos you care about.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Swylo. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms as Swylo changes. For important changes we will ask you to agree again in the app. If you keep using Swylo after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.
15. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If a dispute arises, we hope to settle it by talking first. If that fails, the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to your local courts.
